2) save $$ so i can travel
3) become fairer and hope my teeth shifts faster!
4) keep myself active and busy for the year.
yah..that's all i think. quite reasonable right? actually i have 1 more resolution lah. but it's super unrealistic.(i wanna have a car) so forget it.

finally complete watching dead poets society after 2 times not completing it due to many reasons or so...
it really a nice show. highly recommended. i hate sad endings..especially this show's ending..it's so tear moving...
there's one part of his teachings on individualism and non-conformity. On one occasion he brings the whole class outside the building and makes some of them walk around the yard. As the students walk, they more and more adjust their steps to those of the other students, and in a short time the leisurely walk turns into a strident march. Keating begins to clap his hands, and the students all join into the clapping and the rhythm of the marching. After a while Keating stops the exercise and explains: What this demonstrates is how difficult it is for any of us to listen to our own voice or maintain our own beliefs in the presence of others. ... Lads, there is a great need in all of us to be accepted. However, that need can be like a nasty current, whisking us away unless we're strong and determined swimmers. Don't insist on the separate path simply to be different or contrary, but trust what is unique about yourselves even if it's odd or unpopular. do not succumb to conformity, take the routes that others won't take!
In connection with the walking in lock-step exercise Keating had pointed out that everybody has the natural desire to be liked, and therefore the tendency to adjust his or her conduct to the expectations of others. And when striving for academic honors, students (as well as scholars) similarly try to please their examiners and readers—instead of speaking their minds without self-censorship and fear. But the price of such behavior is the suppression of what is most valuable in everyone, individuality, and a person’s becoming part of “the herd.” Resisting such adjustment to the expectations of others is, according to Keating and Emerson, the basic precondition for living a fulfilling life as well as finding the truth: "Either you will succumb to the will of the hoi polloi [the herd], and the fruit will die on the vine--or you will triumph as individuals.”
Striving for true excellence in life requires being open to the ultimately significant dimensions of human existence. In the same spirit in which he had explained to his students that medicine, banking, and the practice of jurisprudence are only the means to maintain life, not its ends, he also exhorts them to takes ideals seriously: "Deal with the important things in life--love, beauty, truth, justice.” Only persons for whom such ideals are not the usual platitudes, but a lived and living reality, can be said to be truly alive and awake. They are inspired, while the “the mass of men” (in Thoreau’s formulation) waste their time on mundane details “in quiet desperation.”

day 1 after exams
extracted my teeth in the morning. slacked and streamed movies and video. tv surfing all the time. tried very hard to sleep but to no avail. it's raining non-stop outside, freezing cold. no indoor activities planned out. dying to binge on titbits and rubbish but sadly cant. irritated by the gauze in my mouth all the time. life sux.

"my bf dont allow me to watch movie alone with another guy" i think by using this reason to reject your friend movie suck big time. seriously.
"my bf wants me to be home by 11pm" this is worst.
after hearing what my other friends said about their bf i was like dumbfounded.
stand up! be proud...dont even let your bf control your life. if you think what you're doing is right...stick to it!

went to school today. as usual..kb about my teeth. kb about not being able to eat. all my friends were asking about it. hehe. thanks ah...i reached lecture hall earlier(for once) and dumped my bag at my usual seat and zoomed off with some paper. later on, returned to my seat. xiao hui was then asking me," eh, where's your food? thought you went to buy something?" diao..didnt realised that i'm such a greedy girl to everyone. oh..if you guys were wondering, i went to hand in my lab report. didnt really pig out today, still not much of a mood. anyway there's this bugging question i have. why after extraction cannot use straw to drink? i vaguely remembered the dentist was saying it's due to some pressure and stuff. didnt really catch what he was saying coz i was feeling so numb. why ah?
sidenotes: i enjoy blogging even more when exams are approaching. damn...and i'm so addicted to the battle station application in facebook.

extracting 3 teeth one shot is not pain. seriously...at most you'll feel numb cos you have to bite the gauze for like many many many many hours. it's irritating. i hate something stuck in my mouth. the numbness again is nothing. it's the want-to-eat-food-yet-cant-eat-food symdrone is the WORST! for now i havent eaten breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, tea break etc. it's a torture for someone who loves food so much. i'm going to eat up watever food i see tml. and i really have a craving for fried chicken. one day wasted again...due to the irritating gauze...i've got holes in my mouth! gonna be careful when i eat noodles/rice?!

was labbing with karyong today. our datas were quite screwed up due to the lousy equipments. so heck it, will edit the values after all. then while labbing, we were crapping. talking about creating ideal situations. i was telling him that ideal situations will never exist. watever bf or gf you wish to ideally get, you'll end up disappointing yourself. he was saying that is so sad to think in this manner. but aint it true? i dont believe that ideal situations will exist, one just have to deal with the best possible deal. all in life is same, like your experiment will always have errors and anomalous, efficiency can never be 100%. hence, you'll never expect to get an ideal life partner. after karyong heard watever i said, he seemed disappointed...orh...
and i completed my lab reports le! with errors, best fit lines...

Get to know yourself better
Your view on yourself:You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
The seriousness of your love:Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.
Your views on education:Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.
The right job for you:You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
How do you view success:You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.
What are you most afraid of:You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
Who is your true self:You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

it's 3am, trying to do my thermodynamics tut and it's driving me crazy. really 'dy' becoz of it. then i remembered a question that i always asked ppl yet never went to google about the solution.
1)what happens to helium balloons when they raise up to the sky?
hb's guess: according to physics, the higher you go the lower the pressure. thus air inside the balloon will expand until it burst! but how come i never see balloon rubber on the ground one? becoz it's burst till small small bits?
correct answer: yeah! same as mine. Data from the National Weather Service show that at a height of five miles and air temperature of minus-40 degrees F balloons blow apart into small pieces. The natural rubber actually shatters due to the combination of high pressure and cold.
http://www.balloonhq.com/BalloonCouncil/html/sciexp3.html
2) i remembered mr ang saying that the probabilty of ppl having the same birthday as you in a class is very high. i believe him as he worked out b4. but after 20 years of life, i havent found anyone with the same birthday as me.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_paradox#Same_birthday_as_you
In probability theory, the birthday paradox states that in a group of 23 (or more) randomly chosen people, there is more than 50% probability that some pair of them will have the same birthday. For 57 or more people, the probability is more than 99%, although it cannot be exactly 100% unless there are at least 366 people in that group.
3)talking about probability, i decided to find out the odds of winning 4D as well. but no good results came out! boo...anyway, i've got another qns! 4D or toto have a higher probability of winning uh?
arg..i'm just so 无聊!time for pV=nRT blah!

went for army open house. i loved to see tankers, chinooks(watever it's spelt), planes & jets. quite interesting afterall. good to know what the guys are up to during the 2 years. at least i know there're "trying" to serving the nation. i dont understand why the army schools/units looks nicer and newer compared to nus? i think the govt should pump in more $$ for education and stop increasing our school fees!
