Alkmaar- the cheesy place...
they always have nice buildings in the middle of the square...
main street...lots of shopping + lots of crowd...
the big jukebox that plays cute songs...

alkmaar is known as a cheese pasar malam...

pasar malam not only sells cheese but lots of other random stuff..notice the river behind..
clogs, clogs and more clogs!
cheese, cheese and more cheese...you smell cheese everywhere...
tradition cheese trading shows on fridays... it's a tourist thingy but lots of crowd!notice the red sedan kindda thing..they use that to transport cheese around... cheese trading is usually done at the main square near the river. cheese is a main diet for sailors in replace of milk. cheese has a lower shelf life and easier to store compared to other dietary products.dutch pancakes, which is another version of takopachi?
close up view...it's like flatter and coated with icing sugar
huge trucks of cheese.... old cheese, young cheese..
taken at the cheese musuem, attempting to carry the cheese...
kaas/cheese musuem exhibit..
luxurious boat driven by kids...uber jealous!
k..i know..even more cheese..just look at the types available...
and more....
river at alkmaar...
taken from the car...you see cows along the highway...
modern windmills!

Kinderdijk- the windmills haven..
there are 19 windmills at this place. it's not that accessible via train coz it's really at the outskirts. this also explained why we drove down to the place. cheaper and easier..not to mention that it's so convenient too. so, if you're at the netherlands and you wanna see windmills. this is definitely the place.. you get to see the many windmills built all relatively closely to each other...weather was really good and the sky was so blue and decorated with white fluffy clouds! even the lousiest camera can picture the most beautiful photo. sorry for the few pictures coz my camera died halfway!!! suay..but nevertheless, i managed to capture some of it. i love windmills! useful and beautiful...
the many windmills along the river...
more windmills... note that pictures are not photoshopped.
us at kinderdjik..
my hair is never neat becoz of the strong winds..some of the windmills are spinning so quickly!

taken at 7pm..yes..i'm not kidding. the days are getting longer...
love the rivers...plus the sky...
bridges...
look at the row of windmills...
messy hair again!
us having picnic at kinderdjik...

Bratislava- a smaller version of vienna..

i didnt expect myself to be at this place. came over from vienna becoz a direct flight back from vienna is expensive. ryan air has a flight from bratislava to brussels thus here am i in solvakia! it's only an one hour bus journey from wien to bratislava. this place is relatively small, nothing very interesting though...the only incentive is that the buildings all looks really old and not restored at all..unlike other european cities that i've visited. this is something different..at least i get to really see the original form of the buildings... bratislava is like JB whereas vienna is like singapore. viennese will come over to bratislava for cheaper opera and concerts or maybe shop for their groceries. overall, it's just a stop over and resting place for me! it will be an ideal place for you if you're done touring in vienna...

clock tower...

overview of the city landscape...

observatory tower..UFO looking like..

me at the top of bratislava castle...

smaller opera house...

they have lots of cute sculptures around..peeping tom..

interesting scuplture of different famous children stories...

paparazzi...

devin castle from afar..think this is the more ruined kindda castle that i've seen..something different though

fekete and i at the river beside the devin castle..

old town square...

bratislava old town...

me at st micheal's gate..

bratislava parliament..now the solvakia president stays in there..not a big place, even smaller than istana

parliament from the back

park behind the parliament

things we do on the bus journey...so rovers!

absinthe aka green fairy aka copper sulphate drink(i tried one only..dont worry, i didnt KO-ed) and beer...

absinthe..the banned drink in singapore. in sep, we do things that cannot be achieved in sg!

us up at bratislava castle

potato soup...

pork with plum sauce..i really like the plum sauce it's sweet! the potato soup and main costs 4 euros only! cheap...

goulash soup again...

meat pancake with chez....

p/s: will update vienna post soon...
