I guess when all the monotony in life just sinks in, it's pretty pointless to update the little bits of exciting elements during your daily life. Well, let me recall those interesting or significant bits.
Got pretty sickly over the week, one disease just comes one after another. And for no apparent reason somemore! Caught gastric flu which is very absurd! I eat regularly or even excessively, no stress or whatsoever, never skip breakfast cos i get very hungry whenever I wake up. How did I even get gastric flu?! Followed on by a very terrible sore throat which lead to me losing my voice. Sounded really hoarse. Cough cough cough, took loads of cough syrup because I need to recover quickly for my marathon! Currenly, i'm down with a bad flu and attacked by crap loads of mucus and phlegm. Yucky I know. I just cleared a box of tissue paper.
Skip the all sickly bits and I'd like to shout out that I've completed a full marathon! Yes, you've heard me right, it's a 42km run. I was pretty appehensive about the whole race as I've never ever ran for such a far distance before. On top of that, i wasn't feeling the best as my body system was down. I was really worried that my body won't allow me to complete the race. I've been running more regularly ever since i signed up for this marathon on impluse. I was contemplating for the longest time ever whether to do a full or a half. Then i just decided to whack it lah! Though i jogged more regularly but the longest distance that I've clocked during my training was only 15km. Yet I had the nerve to go for my full marathon! Madness! On top of that, before entering the race venue, traffic was really bad and I was stuck in the jam for an hour or so. I got off the car and had to walk to the starting point. To my horrow, the starting point was like 3km away from where I got off. Mind you I had 42km to complete and making me walk for 3km in is detrimental! I was already like 1hour late from the flag off time and had many thoughts of giving up the race. However, upon reaching the starting point I just knew that I have got to run, quickly so I could catch up with the rest and complete the race within the given time frame.
Now I'm proud to announce that I've completed my first full marathon at a timing of 5hr43min! I thought that it was a feat for me considering that I trained a little only. I guess, the thought of ending the whole run asap because i needed my sleep was a good motivation as well. So now...till my next run again! One of my list of resolutions for the year!
